QOIN SAIL PARADISE IS BACK FOR A 12th YEAR!
Southport Yacht Club is pleased to announce the 2023 Qoin Sail Paradise Regatta is returning in January 2023 and Major Events Gold Coast is back on board as a major supporter.
“Events are well and truly back on the calendar for the Gold Coast, and we are delighted that Qoin Sail Paradise is once again recognised by Major Events Gold Coast and the City as an official ‘Major Event’ said Southport Yacht Club’s Commodore Drew Jones.
The Gold Coast’s annual major Sail Regatta is now in its 12th year and sees skippers and crew travel from all parts of Australia and beyond to compete. Qoin Sail Paradise 2023 has now been extended to be held over 5 days, incorporating a ‘lay day’, allowing competitors, their crew, family and friends to experience all of what the Gold Coast has to offer during their stay and to view the stunning sailing spectacle from numerous coastal vantage points throughout the city and from Southport Yacht Clubs Main Beach Club House. Qoin Sail Paradise 2023 is the pinnacle flagship event of the new Summer of Sailing Series Australia (SSSA), which occurs from November 2022 through to January 2023, and incorporates 6 major sailing regattas, all held offshore on the pristine coastal waters between Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Byron Bay – with the Gold Coast being the central nucleus.
“We are water people here on the coast and sailing is part of our DNA,” said Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate. “Over the years, we have produced world champions in the sport so to host this five-day regatta is fitting. I applaud organisers and Major Events Gold Coast for presenting this free event for families and sailing enthusiasts.”

Skippers who enter Qoin Sail Paradise 2023 will also be granted free berthing at Southport Yacht Club during the event and are encouraged to enter the Summer of Sailing Series Australia for the chance to win series bragging rights, trophy accolades and $1,000 SYC Club Cash.
